Words in symbols - from cuneiform to hieroglyph, pictograph, and alphabetical, words are written in many ways for the same reasons. We read to learn, engage, study, prepare, communicate, dream, enjoy and pass the time. We write to spread our words to others who cannot hear us or who might live in some other time, at some other place.
